How long do transactions take?

Transactions typically take 30 minutes or more, as preparing dental gold for melting requires extra time. To expedite your visit, we recommend removing as much porcelain, plastic, or acrylic from the items as possible before bringing them in.

How can I save time during this transaction?

To streamline your transaction, we advise calling ahead to inform our staff that you have dental gold. Removing as much remaining tooth, porcelain, plastic, or acrylic as possible will also help, as it reduces the preparation time needed before melting.

When do transactions require paperwork or ID?

We require identification from any individual conducting transactions where, within a 24-hour period, we receive a Cash total of $10,000.00 CAD or more, or its equivalent in USD. Identification is also required from any client receiving payment by bank transfer or cheque. Additionally, we require identification for repeat customers and for those conducting transactions on behalf of a company.

Are there minimums of dental gold I must bring in?

We commonly advise those with dental metals to collect your items into larger batches of 30g+, as it will yield cleaner bars and save you travel and transaction times in the long run.

What is the Assay Process? Do you have to melt my dental gold?

We don’t melt all metals on site but we do melt Dental Gold and Gold Scrap to ensure an accurate reading and weight. Check out our article about our Assay process.

How do you determine the purity of dental gold?

To get the best value for our clients, we analyze all purchased metals with regularly calibrated, state of the art ElvaX-XRF Analyzer desktop energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analyzer spectrometer for accurate precious metals content. This leaves no question as to the purity of your metals and guarantees that the payment will be based solely on the precious metals content. Our process is transparent, and you can be satisfied knowing that there will be no hidden brokerage, transaction, or assay fees.
