We are Buying ONLY SELECT Silver Until Further Notice

January 19, 2026

As of today we are now purchasing:

  • All silver bullion from LBMA certified makers.
  • 50 Ounce and smaller bullion from non-LBMA makers.

Our silver refining partners in Canada have temporarily frozen their payment mechanisms. This is a global issue in response to current market stressors. Elevated lease rates on silver have now made it impossible for Guardian to settle transactions under normal terms.

At this time we cannot purchase these silver products:

  • Jewellery
  • Silver flatware, tableware, and collectible items
  • Any Coinage
  • Non-LBMA certified makers bullion larger than 50 oz

These are temporary measures. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when circumstances will change, however, we will review this policy as conditions stabilize. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.

Geopolitics

Gold prices have been soaring, recently surpassing the $2,480 mark per ounce. This surge is primarily driven by anticipated interest rate cuts by major central banks and escalating geopolitical tensions. The safe haven appeal of gold becomes more pronounced in uncertain times, making it a go-to asset for investors seeking to hedge against market volatility and potential economic downturns. The ongoing conflicts and political instability in various regions have further contributed to the uncertainty in the global market. Additionally, the fluctuation in currency values has influenced investor behavior, leading to a stronger demand for precious metals.  The market’s reaction to these developments highlights the critical role of gold as a stable investment amid global instability.

In a significant geopolitical development, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a private dinner to discuss the broader Eurasian geopolitical landscape. Their discussions revolved around security issues, trade imbalances, and the upcoming BRICS summit. This meeting underscores the strategic partnership between India and Russia, highlighting their mutual interests in maintaining regional stability and enhancing bilateral economic ties. The dialogue also covered the potential for increased cooperation in energy and defense sectors, reflecting the deepening ties between the two nations. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a multipolar world order, which aims to balance Western influence on global affairs. The outcomes of this meeting could have long-term implications for regional geopolitics and international trade dynamics.

The interplay between geopolitics and economic challenges in major economies like the US and Japan continues to influence gold prices. As the US grapples with inflation and potential Fed rate cuts, gold remains a preferred asset for investors. Meanwhile, Japan’s economic challenges, including fluctuating consumer sentiment, add another layer of complexity to the global precious metals market. These factors collectively contribute to the robust performance of gold as a safe haven investment. The geopolitical landscape has seen significant shifts, with new alliances and conflicts shaping economic policies worldwide.  Trade tensions and sanctions have also played a role in altering market dynamics, affecting both supply and demand. Investors are closely monitoring these developments to make informed decisions in an increasingly volatile market.

After reaching new record highs, gold prices have slightly retreated but continue to maintain a bullish stance. Trading below $2,470, gold remains attractive to investors amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties and economic challenges. The recent fluctuations underscore the metal’s resilience and its critical role in investment portfolios during times of market turbulence. Analysts predict that the bullish trend will continue as long as geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties persist. Market sentiment remains positive, with many viewing gold as a safe bet against potential financial instability. The investment strategies surrounding gold are being closely watched, with significant capital flows directed towards this precious metal.

In a surprising political development, President Joe Biden has announced his decision to withdraw from the upcoming presidential race. This unexpected move has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, raising questions about the future leadership of the United States. Biden cited personal reasons for his decision, expressing confidence in the Democratic Party’s ability to nominate a strong candidate for the 2024 election. The announcement has prompted significant speculation and analysis regarding potential successors and the impact on upcoming elections.  Political analysts are considering the implications for both domestic policies and international relations. This development adds another layer of complexity to the already volatile geopolitical environment.

The Call

Gold hit a new all time high on Wednesday followed by a sell off back to 2400.00. Volatility is the word of the day. President Biden has stepped aside in the presidential race which will cause some indecision short term. A wide range is likely, something like 2325.00 to 2500.00. We would think a continued down trend towards 2350.00 and possibly 2300.00 has good odds off transpiring. However, this should be short lived as gold resumes its march towards 2500.00 to 2700.00 in the next couple of months.
